For the last few weeks I've been working at the grocery store as a cashier. It's been interesting but I don't think I could do it for long. The days go by pretty slow when there's too many people working. It definitely helped to make some money while SEARHC made their decision.
Then a couple days ago I got a call from them saying I got the position! I'm so pumped that I finally got it. I'm also kind of nervous since it's going to be a serious job. I start on Aug 10th and it's about time. Finally, I get to use my degree!
In the mean time I'm gonna have as much fun as I can. Thanks to Abigail and Eli, I now have a good group of friends. Now I don't have to sit at home bored out of my mind! Thanks cousins!

Checker or Counselor...What will I be?

Yesterday I finally had my interview at Raven's Way to be a counselor trainee. I left feeling confident that I answered honestly and adequately. There was a board of five members that asked me a series of questions dealing with the position and life in general. At first I was nervous but after a while I calmed down.

This morning I had an interview at Lakeside Grocery for the checker position. By the end of the interview I had the job. I never thought I'd be this excited to work at a grocery store. I start tomorrow and can't wait to finally get some income again. I let the boss know that I interviewed for Raven's Way but he was cool with it and seemed to understand. At least this way I have a job no matter what happens. There's also an accounting position at the grocery store that he said I may potentially move up to after some time. Having that on my resume would be awesome since that's actually a good paying job.
Now I'm off to celebrate my last day of freedom in the sun. Later I plan to write about one of the five books I'm reading and the wonderful shows I've been watching.

Transforming like Optimus

From this poster alone you can tell what the best part of the movie was. The fact that Megan Fox is bigger than two of the most important characters in the movie is hilarious. She is definitely hot but when she used her girly voice that just got annoying. I enjoyed this movie so much that I saw it twice. Well actually after the first time seeing it I kind of had a headache from squinting so much to figure out which bot was fighting which. Plus all the complicated talk about bot history went right over my head. The second time around I was able to understand a bit more what they were talking about and enjoy Megan & Shia's physical greatness.
For those who didn't like Transformers 2 you probably had to0 high of expectations. This is a movie based on a cartoon, what can you really expect. Yes the first one was amazing but that's because they hadn't done anything like it yet. With movies like this it's important to go in with the mindset that all you expect is explosions and hot actors. If you expect anything more you're bound to be disappointed. There's rumor of a third movie, can't wait!

AK is my new home
So I made it to Sitka. The trip was very long to get here. First I had to drive more than 900 miles, which took about 16 hrs. Was going to sleep in my car but after 16hrs that was the last place I wanted to be. Spent 113 Canadian dollars to be able to sleep in a bed and take a shower. Next morning I got some food then headed to the ferry.
Got on the ferry and made sure to have plenty of entertainment. They played a movie and the cafeteria was as expensive as getting food on the moon. Set up camp on a lawn chair on the top deck. It was actually pretty warm and comfy for the circumstances. So a day and 6hrs (just on the ferry alone) later I finally make it to Sitka. Of course it was raining... Dad was awake and just talked to him for a bit before crashing.
Right now I've been visiting with the grandparents and Eli. It'll probably be the last week for a very long time that I won't be doing something. I have an interview with SEARHC on monday for the counselor job. I hope I get it!

Talk about a break
Wow so it's been forever since I've posted. Not like anyone's reading this anyways haha. Lots has been happening which I can't even begin to describe on here. I know what's happened and that's all that matters. There's going to be a long break again since I'll be moving to AK!
Movie updates:
Angels & Demons- Pretty good, glad I read the book. Learn alot in a short period of time about history with religion and science. Not as good as Da Vinci Code.
Terminator Salvation- So amazing I saw it twice! I love the old Terminator movies so it wasn't hard for me to get into this movie. Loved the nonstop action and destruction. There was just enough of a plot/story for it to keep your attention in that category.
Star Trek- Not my favorite. I don't really know anything about the past Star Trek movies or shows so it was difficult for me to follow. I felt the dialogue was too much for my brain to handle haha. I liked the visuals and the action scenes, but there were not enough of them from what the commercial showed. Everything that was in the commercials was the best parts of the movie, sooo basically 30 seconds of it? Everyone else liked it so I guess I'll have to see it again.
The Hangover- Exactly what I expected and then some. Tons of ridiculous, unlikely occurences. It reminded me of my Vegas trips only 100x more crazy, I guess I've been going with the wrong people. There were plenty of one liners to keep me laughing and I didn't feel disappointed. Made me pumped to go again.

Puerto Vallarta doesn't have the flu
The zip-line was super fun and a total adrenaline rush for me. It was hosted at the Predator film set. It's definitely worth the cost for such a great experience. Later Rachael and I did parasailing from the beach. That was scarier to me since there was no safety instruction and you're just floating more than 100ft above the water. All I could think was if I fall I will break alot of bones and was trying to figure out the best way to land. It was cool but probably wouldn't do it again, just because it was expensive and I didn't get any instruction.
The food is also amazing there. Everything was made fresh and tasted amazing. I got a couple margaritas over the week, which were pretty strong but typical of what I get in the US. Coronas tasted the same to me as well (heard they tasted different there).
I can't wait to go back! I'm hoping to go before the end of the year and get a group together. I love being out in the sun and having fun. Love the tan I got too, hope it lasts!
