Flu Makeup Edition

All last week I had the flu and it was the worst I've been sick in more than a year. I'm still recovering! I had to call in sick for work 4 days in a row, then just tough it out on the weekend. Now my nose is all scabbed up and gross from blowing and wiping it so much. This contraption would've been useful but Jayson was nice enough to get me a box of tissues. Despite being sick I was still able to celebrate my birthday and help some kids do the same.

Today when I was on my break I walked by Barnes & Noble and realized the new SI swimsuit edition is out. So far it's pretty good and of course there's tons of gorgeous women. Other than all the beautiful pictures I'm trying to read the articles too and learn some things. All I've learned at the moment is that I'm poor and can't go to any of the exotic and local rich beaches they did the photo shoots at.

Speaking of photo shoots, I've had an overwhelming amount of offers on MM for shoots. On Sunday I'm going to a beauty seminar at Sephora to learn how to put makeup on. Maybe then I won't have to rely on makeup artists for my shoots. Plus knowing how to put on makeup is a life skill for women to learn in general. And frankly it's a lesson I have yet to learn, and now's a good time as any. Doing my hair will be the next lesson to learn.

**P.S. Oh! A side note, I got rid of the lip ring. It became a hassle and the piercer didn't tell me that to have a ring it needed to be pierced a certain way. Oh well I can always wear a fake one and get it redone if I really want to.

Scam Mayhem Donation

Yep, that's right I got scammed. Susan Page Modeling is one huge scam. Lesson learned not to waste money on modeling. First they told me the price included a photoshoot at a mansion on the beach with hair and makeup. They also told me that it would include my modeling cards with pics from the shoot.

After a great ego boost of looking great with makeup and hair done and wearing my own clothes, I got jipped. The house ended up not being a mansion or even close to the beach. The pictures turned out alright but Jayson took better pictures of me for free on my personal camera. Also when I came back to pick out the pics for my modeling card, I was charged MORE money. Plus the pics I got to keep were developed on normal pics you can get from Walmart. Lucky me...
At the end of picking out my photos they gave me a bunch of paperwork, which basically said I couldn't work for any other agency for a year. Psh, heck no I didn't sign it.

Instead of sitting on my cute butt for a year stuck with Susan Page Scammers, I was recommended this awesome site by a fellow model. She said she's gotten about 30 photoshoots in about 2 months with hair and makeup all for free. Plus she's done small scale runway shows, fashion displays, and other fashion type events. Basically, it's a fb for people trying to build their portfolios! My profile just got approved yesterday so we'll see how it goes!

After being a personal ATM for SPM, I was still feeling in a giving mood. I went through some of my clothes and was able to get rid of a huge bag of clothes. Hopefully after a while I'll be able to go through and get rid of some more. As Novak suggested, all I need is enough to fit in a backpack. Well unfortunately my imaginary backpack is the size of a closest. But it's a process of letting go! Give me some slack here! Another bonus was I got a tax receipt for the donation, so I'll get more back next year. Which means I'll be able to restock my closest with new clothes!

Model Lip Passion

On Thursday I went to my photo shoot to get my portfolio going. It was at the house of the owner of the agency. Whoo! That's a tongue twister. Girrrl I got my hair and makeup did and I was lookin' fiiine. The first set up pics reminded me of getting senior pics taken for HS. The second set was pool side and I had finally gotten to see what I looked like. When I looked in the mirror between outfits, I didn't even recognize myself.

Later that afternoon & evening, I took advantage of the free makeup & hair. So I asked my friends & Jayson to take pics of me. We went to Magic Island and got some great shots with Luana's film. And Jayson and I did some street shots around our neighborhood. They all turned out so great! Thanks you guys!

Got my lip pierced today after work. I've been wanting to get one for a while now and figured now's a good time as any. The actual piercing part didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. When I first saw the needle they were were going to use I thought "ohhh lord this going to hurt". It hurt more trying to eat at JIB right afterwards. Thank god for Jamba Juice so that I could get some non-painful nutrition.

This is the recent Netflix that I got. I've been meaning to watch it since it came out in HS. Little did I know that it wasn't in English and I would have to stay captivated to for a couple hours. I was unsuccessful in this endeavor. Guess I'm not ready for something like this at this point in my life. There wasn't much motivation to watch a story that I already knew. It'll have to wait til a later date.

Rude Jersey Tattoo

I was bored and decided to check out msn.com to see if there was anything interesting to entertain me. What I found on my search was a list of the top 20 rudest cities in america. Just to name a few: Anchorage (#20), Seattle (#16), Vegas (#8), and L.A. (#1). Of course there were only major cities on the list. Which if you think about it all the locals there are probably stressed and if they're visiting they're stressed because they're lost. Anyways, below is the link to see the full list. Yep, that's right biatches! They're baaack. Miami was a trip and now they're back in Jersey crazier than ever. There's only been two episodes so far and there's already been a semi-fist fight, smooshing, yelling, and Snooki getting arrested. What more could you ask for in a trashy show each week? Let the drama continue to entertain us and make us feel guilty for being so into it. The biggest question on my mind right now is, "Does Snooki need rehab for alcoholism?" Why don't we all answer on the poll at right!




Dark, a badass, and curiously sexually attractive. These are a few things that come to my mind when I think of Stieg Larsson's character, Lisbeth Salander played by Noomi Rapace. So far I've only seen The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and can't wait to see the other two. Unfortunately, I haven't read the books yet but definitely intend to (with the recommendation from both my parents long before the movies and who are avid readers and know their stuff). But for now I'll just look at the beautiful editorial pictures and have a slight envy of being somewhat like that character. Hope no one runs into me in a dark alley when I'm feeling a little Lisbeth-like.

Lost Tabby Everyday

I know it seems like it's been forever since the last post. Cus it has been! Busy as a bee in Waikiki!


It's a new year, and that means new life experiences and new movies to watch. Recently I watched The Lost Boys and can never look at Jack Bauer/Kiefer Sutherland the same again. The whole time I couldn't stop laughing, it's right up there with The Warriors. Oh and Jay just started watching Lost, which I'm becoming obsessed with all over again. Gonna go have to visit the film spots!



Randomly while searching for "Hustlin" images I discovered this annoying little creature. She's pretty stupid and captivating and many other words for obnoxious. Which are all reasons I couldn't look away and continued to click on more videos. Tabby is your typical 16 year old girl from Kentucky who's bored and likes to keep up with the trends. Being in a place with so many opportunities and things to do I've been going crazy doing monotonous office work in a high rise, corporate style cubicle. In order to cope with this madness I've been scouring CL for every gig, PT job, etc that I can find. While on the hunt I found a club promotion gig and set up an interview to see what it was all about. After being sold on the idea of selling passes that get you into a ton of clubs w/o paying cover and discounts on drinks, I've been eager to get started. Last night Jay and I were taken on a mini orientation of what a typical Tuesday night is like and try to pass out promo cards. Pretty soon everyday I'll be hustlin' like Rick Ross. Dolla bills will be flowin in like it was graduation day all year long!

Teen Swan Buffet

I finally finished Dracula, which was nothing like the 90's movie version. Before I go on a rant about that...I checked out this new book. It's The Teen Vogue Handbook. Yeah I know, it's for teens and about making it in fashion. Which neither equal me. But educating oneself in various ways is always important. Learning from entrepreneurs from any field can teach someone something. I figure why not a field that intrigues me and is super hard to be successful in? If these people can do it in fashion, I can do it in life! So far I've only read about two designers and absorbed alot; so who knows what more I could learn.

Jayson and I broke down and saw a movie in theaters. It's been a while since we've done that. We chose Black Swan since it looked like one of those movies best seen in theaters. And we were right! The whole time I kept saying "what the cuss is going on?" and left with the same question in my mind. It's refreshing to finally see a movie that's new, creative, and unpredictable. Finally something that's not a remake or based on a book. If you get a chance go see it in theaters, it'll blow your mind!

For Christmas Eve, we went out to this sushi buffet. It was really expensive and not at all like the picture (like always). I ended up eating so much that I was literally in pain for an hour or two after. The food was alright but I don't think I'll go back there again unless it's for lunch on my birthday. In this case it'll be almost half dinner price & a discount since it'll be my bday. I think next time we'll stick to Todai's. Same price but better selection of sushi.

3 Dog Cyrus

Recently Jayson and I watched Volume 3 of Skins. At first we thought there's no way these kids could top the last cast. We were pleasantly proven wrong. There was love, tragedy, sex, drugs/alcohol, and techno! If you ever need another show to watch while you're waiting for the next episode of Billy the Exterminator, this is it. I also really hope the US/MTV version doesn't disgrace this UK series. I can't wait to get a hold of the 4th volume. Doing some research I saw that there's already a 5th volume in the works with another new cast. Hurry up Netflix!

Tonight I started doing some research on hanging with my furry friends and making some moola simultaneously. Yep, that's right people I'm gonna start my dog walking business again. This time I'm going to do it for real and put out tons of advertisement/promo stuff. My goal at the moment is to obtain a night job so that I can work on my business during the day. How awesome would it be get a tan, my dog fix, and paid to do it all at the same time?! If anyone's moving to the Oahu area in a month or two I'll hire ya!

That's right, she really can't be tamed. We've all heard or seen something about the latest Miley Cyrus scandal. Toke, toke, toke! She's been taped acting Lindsay-like, smoking out of a bong. Don't worry Papa Cyrus, it was just a natural herb she was inhaling. The story that it was only salvia is likely and from her reaction I believe it. Weed is a walk in the park compared to salvia. She wouldn't have immediately started giggling, talking a ton, and acting like a straight up annoying person if it had been weed. The video of her dancing with a 40 year old was almost as painful to endure as this video. Honestly, I just feel bad for the girl and her family. She got out of Disney just in time.
